MICF visits Howrah Primary School

Earlier in the year one of our Directors Julie visited local Howrah Primary School in Hobart to speak about the island. A couple of months later, to coincide with the winter solstice, the school held a 'wear a beanie' day to raise funds for the MICF. They raised over $500! The day included Macquarie Island based activities such as making albatross, penguins in an aurora play, and whale play and research. It’s heartening to see the next generation of young conservationists getting excited about their Macquarie Island.
