Our principles

As an environmental not-for profit organisation, the Foundation operates according to the following principles:

• A focus on high quality, science-based initiatives that assist with conservation and management of Macquarie Island

• Initiatives to promote awareness and appreciation of the importance of Macquarie Island and provide ongoing connections to support long-term conservation on the island

• Transparent and accountable decisions and allocation of funds, which are fundamental to the Foundation’s core aims and values

• Foundation-facilitated activities that align with the Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service’s management of the island

• A high calibre Management Committee motivated by their shared interest in and commitment to the Foundation’s mission.
